Do your homework!

By // January 4, 2013 // Posted in Events, Photography, Rangefinder, Wedding, Workshops, WPPI News

It’s no secret there are LOTS of workshops, seminars and shoot outs to choose from at WPPI. This year we’re offering over 100 classes, so choosing can be overwhelming! I know from personal experience I used to hop from one class to another, and sometimes miss out on a class I should’ve attended. Finally, I got smart and sat down, read through each class description and narrowed my list down. Once I settled my list, I cross-referenced the times, and made my schedule. You should also try to zero in on the most important classes for you, and don’t over schedule yourself—12-hour days of seminars are unrealistic (remember we are there to have some fun too!).

As with any workshop or seminar, I cannot stress enough to do your homework. Visit the photographer’s website, friend ‘em on facebook, and ask yourself, “is this someone I can learn from?” Also, there are always many extra-curricular workshops that run during WPPI that have no affiliation with us. As with our classes, research the teachers and check their qualifications. All of our speakers have been carefully chosen by our team to make sure they are not only great teachers, but are well prepared to teach.

Finally, need some help choosing? I’m happy to help! Shoot me an email: jason dot groupp at nielsen dot com.
