This Sudbury, Ontario, Canada wedding was “a dream to photograph from beginning to end,” says photographer Shauna Heron—who markets herself as a destination wedding photographer—and who just completed her first season as a full-time wedding shooter (though she says she’s been shooting weddings part-time for 3.5 years).
Heron says the rainy weather was the only challenge photographically during the wedding of Melanie and Robert—it meant they had to move inside for pictures after the ceremony. But the shift in weather was also a “blessing in disguise” she says as she ended up being able to photograph the couple at a friend’s quaint wine and cheese shop (pictured below).
“Melanie and Robert are one of my favourite couples. From our first meeting Melanie assured me that she wasn’t interested in stylized, posed portraits of any kind…but instead wanted me to focus on what I’m good at—moments. I absolutely love when a bride has this kind of trust and confidence in me, it just makes the day such a joy to shoot. These two are an absolutely gorgeous couple, inside and out, with families as equally loving and gracious. Love them all,” Heron says.
