The Musts of Wedding Photography are Summed Up in One Intriguing Infographic

Can wedding photography really be summed up in an infographic? UK-based photographer Barry Page seems to be of the opinion that you can, as he compiled and created an interesting visual that depicts the most important shots that every wedding photographer should look out for.

While Page’s talking points of the graphic, released on Photodoto, are fairly basic and would most likely be more useful to someone just starting out in the industry, the points are well taken nonetheless. No wedding photo album is quite complete without shots of the pre-ceremony jitters, the teary-eyed parents, the romantic moments between the bride and groom, and, of course, the venue.

Yet we would probably argue that good wedding photographers must capture these do-or-die shots, and great ones go well beyond what’s expected of them. Capturing moments with grandparents is a must in our book, for instance (photographer Kirra Cheers told us why these are her favorites, too). Our featured Weddings of the Week are prime examples of how photographers are going the distance with their lens, too.

Any beginning photographer looking for inspiration beyond Pinterest should absolutely pay attention to part two of this graphic, where Page points out the most essential wedding photography blogs to follow. We’d add to his list Green Wedding Shoes, Ruffled, WellWed, and Southern Weddings if we could, but there are so many good ones out there that we don’t blame him for shooting for a more condensed guide.
