How Michael Grecco Shot His Latest Film Using Panasonic’s 4K Cameras

Reading up on new camera specs is useful but it’s always better to see the gear in action—especially when it comes to feature-packed 4K cameras that land closer to the affordable side for most shooters out there.

Commercial photographer, director and Lumix Luminary Michael Grecco (who’s shot the likes of Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Penelope Cruz and Will Ferrell for places like Esquire and TIME) made a little film for Panasonic called “Forever Young,” which demonstrates the various capabilities of the Lumix GH4 Mirrorless 4K camera (he and his crew even fly it on a drone for some atmospheric shots of a Porsche winding through the desert), the HX-A500 Wearable 4K POV adventure camera (strapped to a biker’s helmet that filters into a tiny recorder strapped to his arm) as well as the HC-X1000 4K advanced camcorder (mounted to the Porsche for some dirt-kicking action).

Grecco comments in the behind-the-scenes video (below) how easy these cameras are to use, and that they have particularly strong follow focus capabilities to keep up with the action in the video. See what else he has to say, plus the other supplementary pieces of gear they used to put everything together:
