Fast on the heels of the EOS M3, Canon is bringing another mirrorless camera to the world in November.
The EOS M10 boasts an 18-megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100-12,800 (expandable to 25,600). It’s powered by Canon’s DIGIC 6 processor and uses the company’s Hybrid CMOS AF II system with 49 AF points for focusing.
The M10 sports a 3-inch, tilting touchscreen display that can be popped over the top of the camera for selfies. It features Wi-Fi with NFC along with 1920x1080p30 video recording.
Canon’s newest mirrorless will ship with a new retractable EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens that shortens and locks into a compact size when not in use. The M10 and 15-45mm lens kit ships in November for $600 and are available for pre-order now. The camera body is available in black or white. If you want a gray body, you’ll have to buy it through the Canon store.
In addition, the new EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM zoom lens will also be sold separately for $300.
Canon’s PowerShot G series focuses on a large, 1-inch sensor in a compact body with RAW shooting and plenty of features to appeal to advanced users.
There are a pair of new G cameras, the G5 X and G9 X. Both will use a 1-inch, 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 125-12,800 and a DIGIC 6 processor. They’ll feature plenty of customizable dials plus a control ring on the lens for further tweaking. They’ll offer ND filters, too, for controlling exposure in bright conditions.
HD videos can be recorded at 1920×1080 at 60p, 30p and 24p. The cameras will offer both Wi-Fi and NFC and an improved Star Trails mode to improve astro photography. They’ll also have a new Star Time-Lapse Movie mode to create clips of moving stars against a static background of space.
The G5 X will be the first in the series to incorporate a 2.36-million dot OLED electronic viewfinder. You can also frame your images using a 3-inch, vari-angle touch screen display. The G5 X offers a 24-100mm equivalent zoom lens with an aperture range of f/1.8 – f/2.8 and Canon’s Intelligent Image Stabilization system.
It will set you back $800 and is available for pre-order now.
The PowerShot G9 X incorporates a 28-84mm equivalent, f/2-4.9 lens and a 3-inch touch screen. It features continuous shooting up to 6fps.
It will retail for $530 and is available for pre-order now.
