Coming Soon: Use Affinity Photo on a Windows PC

Serif’s Affinity photo editing and design apps have caught the eye of many in the creative community by offering a powerful feature set at a reasonable cost.

Now the company is bringing its two flagship tools, Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, into the Windows platform.

Affinity Photo boasts a feature set that gives Photoshop a run for its money with just about everything a pro needs to craft an image, including RAW processing, PSD import and export, 16-bits per channel editing and ICC color management.

You’ll also find camera lens and exposure corrections, exposure adjustments, live filter layers, high-end controls for channels and masks, advanced layer handling, and built-in frequency separation editing. Serif says Affinity ramps up the speed, editing very high-res images with multiple layers with real-time views of adjustments.

However, it will be some time yet before the software is available for Windows users. A free public beta won’t be available until the summer.

According to Serif, both Affinity programs will have identical feature sets to their Mac companions. They’ll also be priced the same, at $50 for a perpetual license.
