Over the past three years, Rangefinder has featured countless nuptials under the header Wedding of the Week on its PhotoForward blog. We’ve showcased stunning scenery, unique lighting challenges, remarkable décor and beautiful gestures of love from around the world. Now we’re excited to introduce our next “visual feast” with the launch of our brand new photo series, Rf Photo of the Day.

Be sure to check back every weekday to find a new outstanding piece of work from a selected photographer’s portfolio—either chosen by Rf editors or the photographers themselves. Whether it’s a compelling portrait (from one of the several photo genres we cover in the magazine) or an impactful image from a wedding, engagement, proposal, stylized shoot or even personal project, we feel certain that every image we feature here will strike a chord and stir your creative juices.

First up: New Zealand-based wedding photographer Danelle Bohane‘s beautiful bridal portrait, taken at a very sunny 1 p.m. in Adelaide, Australia.

For Bohane, a 30 Rising Star in 2015, this image represents a unique challenge. In order to capture and enhance all the intricate details of the bride’s outfit, she says, she took “something that is generally avoided by many photographers—full front sunlight—and used it to capture a portrait. I feel I achieved a particular look that I can add to my tool belt that isn’t always the safest and typical way of doing a bridal portrait.” (Shot using a Canon 5D Mark III at f/1.8 with an 85mm lens.)
