You wouldn’t think it from just looking at it, but this photo, captured by Emily Delamater, is actually from a styled shoot for a coastal Maine elopement, featuring a real couple in love. The Rf 30 Rising Star (2014) collaborated with Bangs Island Mussels (that’s their boat, and their barge), photographer Leah Fisher and Field Floral Studio on “one of those crazy spring days with all sorts of weather,” Delamater says, “from bright sunshine, to clouds, to rain and even hail!”

They had the groom play the bride a song on the guitar he’d brought before heading out to shoot on the water. The only thing missing at the moment was some movement, so Delamater told a friend off to the far left of the frame to throw some bread into the water so that some seemingly serendipitous seagulls and their flapping wings could join the scene.

(Shot on a Canon 5D Mark III and the Sigma Art 24mm lens at f/2.)
