Dapper in Dappled Light [Rf Photo of the Day]

Before coming to New York to study at the International Center of Photography, Norway-born photographer Kunal Kohli studied at the Bilder Nordic School of Photography, where he shot this image. “It was taken for my finals,” he explains, “where one of the tasks was to create a fashion portrait with the use of natural light.”

Working with model Omar Jobe was a no-brainer for Kohli, who then had the task of scouting a location. “When I saw the wall he is standing in front of, I knew it was the one,” the photographer says. “It was how the light hit it with creating shadows as is. I wanted to go for a classical look, so I picked the blue suit for the photo shoot. The wall is green today, with logos of a store all over it.”
