Photographer Jeremy Chan took this photo in Hong Kong as part of a personal project that he worked on in collaboration with Sony. Taken next to a historic building known as “Blue House,” this image was shot with a Sony a7r II and 35mm lens, and Chan lit the scene with a Phottix Indra500 strobe.
A Hong Kong native, Chan tells Rangefinder that he began this series with the goal of photographing the fading, yet still-vibrant allure of the city. “Hong Kong is in pretty bad shape now,” Chan says. “I wanted to do something to change that perception. I wanted to bring out the beautiful history of the city and remind people of its charm.”
