Photographer Jeff Cooke of Cooked Photography was on his way to have a fall-themed portrait session with these newlyweds in Nova Scotia, Canada, when fate stepped in.

After a ceremony in the highlands of Cape Breton, Cooke and the couple planned to drive towards an area filled with beautiful fall colors for portraits. However, while passing through a small fishing village, they just so happened to see another photographer pointing their lens towards the waves crashing into the coastline. After a quick assessment of the environment, Cooke and the couple agreed that the scene would make an interesting backdrop for photos and decided to pull over. “The bride and groom headed out along the rocks, sharing a passionate kiss at the absolutely perfect moment,” Cooke says. “And, thankfully, they didn’t get soaked!”

(Shot using a Nikon D750 with a 35mm, f/1.4 lens.)
