When the sun started to stream through the window of this bridal prep room at the Evergreen Lodge in California’s Yosemite park, both photographer Dustin Cantrell and videographer Tim Fox realized they were in trouble. “The light was creating a hot spot from the waist down,” Cantrell recalls. “It threatened to ruin my vision for the getting ready photos.”

But, luckily, the photographer and videographer were able to join forces and come up with a solution. The plan? To get a white sheet and find a way to secure it upright. “While I was looking for the diffuser, aka bed sheet, Tim found two perfectly-sized branches in the woods,” Cantrell notes. “We used our MacGyver skills to secure the sheet and it ended up being the perfect amount of diffusing needed.”

All in all, Cantrell notes that the teamwork paid off. “The extra effort we put in was totally worth it,” he says. “The bride’s getting ready photos are my favorite from this year!”
