“This shot is so simple yet so beautiful,” notes photographer Cami Grudzinski of Cami Zi Photography, who captured this bridal portrait at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida. According to Cami, the bride planned a tasteful wedding—no makeup, modest gowns and a very elegant style.

As the bridal party made their way down the hallway and towards the elevators, “I saw the light beautifully coming through this window,” Cami recalls. “Everyone was ready to jump on the elevators but I just couldn’t pass up this opportunity.” She waited for the hustle and bustle of the crowd to pass and then asked the bride to stand in the frame of the window. “The bridesmaids wanted to fix the bottom of her dress,” the photographer recalls, “and even though I thought about it, I’m glad we didn’t. I didn’t want the shot to look too polished.”

Cami took two shots. The first frame included only the vases and window, but then, “I took a second to breathe and to take my mind away from all the rush around me,” she says. “I re-scanned the room and looked up. I was in awe of what I saw!” The second frame, shown above, showcases the beautiful ceiling lines and chandelier that, Cami notes, “transforms the entire shot. Slowing down pays off!”
