Under The Veil [Rf Photo of the Day]

It was golden hour at The Ranch in Laguna Beach, California, when wedding photographer Nicole Leever captured this portrait. “The sun was setting perfectly in the valley and the light was bouncing off the hillside next to us,” the photographer recalls. “I positioned the couple in front of the hill and made sure the sun was just behind the groom to keep the texture of the veil and to allow the sunlight to softly spill into the frame,” she notes.

There was a slight breeze that day too, so Leever tucked herself under the veil and simply let it fall in front of the lens, creating an elegant and intimate portrait. In the end, setting up the shot was relatively easy. The hard part, Leever recalls, was “making sure I didn’t lose the emotion from my couple while I was composing the image.”
