DNP Imagingcomm American Corporation (DNP) has expanded the capabilities of its flagship DS620A dye-sub printer thanks to new firmware (v 1.41) and a new driver (v 1.0.4.2), as well as an update to its Hot Folder Print (HFP) Utility to v. 2.2. The upgraded process is quick, easy and well worth the time it takes to download the updates here.

What do you get with the new updates? One of the most exciting new features is the ability to print panoramas on the DS620A—even without special pano paper. With DNP’s 6 x 8-inch media, you can print 6 x 14 and 6 x 20-inch panoramas when using the latest firmware and version 2.2 of the company’s HFP Utility.

With the updated HFP Utility, users can also program a time-out limit for multi-cut print jobs. Other features of the HFP Utility include automatic archiving of print files and, if you’re running multiple DNP printers (up to four simultaneously, with the same media), the system will save you time by allocating prints to the different printers for the most time-efficient printing.

At the same time, DNP has added a new Luster finish option. Just be sure to download the firmware, driver and HFP Utility to gain all the benefits that the updates offer. Of course, the downloads are free, so if you’re looking for a dye-sub printer with panoramic capabilities, the DS620A should now be on your shortlist.
