Pure Happiness [Rf Photo of the Day]

Of all the things you have to keep in mind as a wedding photographer, it’s often just about knowing how to find yourself smack-dab in front of some beautiful emotion with your camera at the ready. That’s what Sidney Bensimon (an Rf 30 Rising Star in 2014) walked away knowing after shooting Ren and Sam’s nuptials in Gloucester, Massachusetts.

“I love the photo you picked,” she says, “because the joy and love they share is bursting out of this image.” While I love the New York-based photographer’s use of flash here, how she made the bride and groom glow without washing out their faces or making the background disappear completely, it’s really their expressions that drew me in. “As a wedding photographer, you can have all the technique and equipment,” Bensimon muses, “but you can’t create these moments—you can only be ready to capture it.”
