A Field of Lavender [Rf Photo of the Day]

Lavender is in full bloom around late April at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California, says photographer Michelle Beller, who lives just 30 minutes from the scenic venue. That’s the time of year that this couple, Ben and Zoe, eloped, and luckily they were able to get in between the lavender puffs just as golden hour approached for this purple-hued wedding portrait.

While it may look like a simple garden stroll, Beller says getting couples to walk through a field of lavender isn’t easy. “Lavender is very sturdy and is completely surrounded by bees,” she notes. “It was a little worrisome, but we all walked away unscathed.”
