The bride and groom had just finished their first look and were walking across the property to take more portraits when photographer Kimberly Kay looked over and saw this scene. The little boy—the bride’s nephew—had taken it upon himself to carry his aunt’s veil when suddenly “the wind just sort of blew it up on his face,” Kay recalls.

The ceremony was held at the Sunriver Resort in Bend, Oregon. The bride and groom were walking ahead, unaware of what was happening right behind them. “The bride wanted to have the veil close by in case she needed it for the portraits,” Kay recalls. As they were walking, “her nephew was trying so hard not to let the veil touch the ground, yet all the while he could barely see where he was going!”
