Epson hit WPPI with a new software aimed at streamlining the printing process using the company’s SureColor P-series printers.

Epson Print Layout, as it’s straightforwardly called, essentially aggregates print driver functions into a single, easy-to-navigate window. Using the software you can create photo layouts, manage color with support for ICC profiles and color modes available in the Epson print driver. You can apply customized frames and borders for gallery-wrap prints, too.

The software also supports a live print preview when using the software’s Advanced Black and White Mode. You’ll have the ability to make more accurate edits to your monochrome images (non-destructively) with real-time previews of your changes. You’ll have preset black-and-white settings (warm, cool, etc.) with slider-based controls to fine-tune your selections.

The software also supports automatic paper sizing for panoramic prints based on image size and roll width.

The software, which is available as a free download, can be used as a plug-in for Photoshop or as a standalone app for Windows and Mac. Unlike traditional plugins, however, once and image is transferred from Photoshop to Epson Print Layout, you’ll be able to return to Photoshop to edit additional images.
