Interfit hit WPPI 2017 with new LED lighting solutions.
The VersaTile is a lightweight, flexible LED mat that can be rolled up and bent in unique configurations. The VersaTile has a Color Rendering Index of 95 and offers an adjustable color temperature from 3200K to 5600K.
Two VersaTile mats can be combined in a custom fixture to boost light output.
The 9 x 16-inch LED mat has been flicker tested to over 40,000 framers per second so it won’t impair even high-frame-rate video recording.
The light will include a lightweight and collapsible aluminum frame with a stand mount that lets you swivel the light a full 360 degrees or lock it down into a set position. It also includes a diffuser that is held in place using elastic and Velcro. It runs off of AC power and uses a multi-voltage power pack so it can be used globally. There’s also a Sony V-Lock battery mount so you can use it sans power cord. The VersaTile is also dust and water resistant.
Prices range from $400-$1,200 depending on how many lights you’d like to bundle in your kit.
Interfit also recently introduced an LED Soft Ring Light ($250) which the company claims uses specialized LEDs so as not to create hot spots on subjects. It has a 12-inch diameter that’s large enough to accommodate cameras of just about any size.
Like the mat, the ring light will offer a CRI of 95 with adjustable brightness and color temperature (3200-5600K). It’s flicker-free and features built-in handles on both sides of the light plus an adjustable camera mounting plate on 15mm rails. There are also two slots for 19mm rails if you have a larger/heavier camera system.
The light has a pair of Sony NP-F battery mounts, which will give you over an hour of operation at full power. Spring for a D-tap cable (optional) and you can run the light off of larger batteries. The light also includes a multi-voltage AC power pack. There’s also a USB charging port so you can recharge a mobile device from the light’s battery, if you were so inclined.
